Decriminalize Cannabis in Fiji: For Our Health, Wealth, and Justice.
We call on the Prime Minister of Fiji, the Ministry of Health, and Parliament to decriminalize and regulate cannabis — ensuring the industry prioritizes the rights of Fijian citizens, indigenous landowners, and rural communities, and to release those imprisoned for non-violent cannabis offenses.

Five reasons Fiji must act now.
Decriminalize Medicinal Cannabis
Countries like Australia, Canada, and Germany allow medicinal cannabis to improve patients' lives. Fijians suffering from cancer, epilepsy, autism, and paralysis deserve access to this proven treatment without fear of criminalization.
Decriminalize Recreational Cannabis
In Portugal, Thailand, and the Netherlands, decriminalization has boosted tourism, business, and employment; reduced pressure on law enforcement; and stimulated rural economies so indigenous landowners benefit.
Revise Hemp Regulations
Hemp is a $5 billion global industry. New Zealand and the United States have modernized their laws for textiles, biofuels, and construction. Fiji's farmers deserve the same chance to compete on the world stage.
Release Cannabis Prisoners
Over 40 countries have expunged cannabis offenses to right past injustices. Fiji should release those imprisoned for non-violent cannabis offenses, and prevent future criminalization of citizens for cannabis use.
Protect Fijian Ownership
Policies must prioritize Fijian ownership of cannabis and hemp businesses and prevent foreign corporations from monopolizing the industry — keeping profits, land, and opportunity in Fijian hands.
- 01Immediate decriminalization of medicinal cannabis to provide life-changing treatments.
- 02Regulated decriminalization of recreational cannabis to drive tourism, jobs, and investment.
- 03Updated hemp laws to empower Fijian farmers and enter the global market.
- 04Fair industry policies to prevent exploitation and keep profits in Fiji.
- 05Release of cannabis prisoners to promote justice and social equity.
