A movement, not a moment.
Cannabis Fiji was founded in 2024 to change how our country talks about — and legislates — cannabis. We are an independent, non-partisan movement of Fijians working for reform grounded in science, medicine, and justice.
How it started.
Cannabis Fiji grew out of conversations between patients, farmers, lawyers, and healthcare workers who had watched, for too long, as Fiji's cannabis conversation was left to whispers and courtrooms.
Our neighbours in Australia, New Zealand and Vanuatu had moved. The World Health Organization had moved. The United Nations had moved. Fiji had not.
We are here to change that — with evidence, with respect, and with the voices of the Fijians this policy affects most.
Mission
To end the criminalisation of cannabis, secure medical access for patients, and unlock a Fijian industrial hemp industry.
Vision
A Fiji where cannabis policy is set by evidence, not by fear — and where the plant serves science, medicine, and the economy.
Values
Evidence. Justice. Transparency. Non-partisanship. Care for our farmers, our patients, and our young people.
Founder's letter.
"For decades, Fijians have been arrested, shamed and imprisoned for a plant. The science has changed. The world has changed. It is time for our law to change too."
A lifelong advocate for evidence-based drug policy, [Founder name] launched Cannabis Fiji to bring the country's cannabis conversation out of the shadows and into science, medicine, and opportunity.
